How do I create a guide?
Anyone can create a Brisbane app guide however you must sign up for a free Brisbane app account to create content for the app. Published guides are visible to anyone using the app.
Select the Account icon at the bottom of your Brisbane app screen and log into your account. Click the ‘create’ button and choose ‘create a guide’. This will open a ‘create your own guide’ screen. Click the ‘get started’ button. Choose the type of guide you’d like to create from the four options and then choose the ‘next’ button. Fill in the fields and select ‘next’ to move to the next screen. Complete the fields on all screens until you get to a screen that shows your guide – there are 6 screens to complete before you get to this screen. Review the content, preview the guide to see how it will look to users and once you are happy select the ‘publish’ button. Your guide will be subject to review and moderation.

I submitted my guide for moderation but need to make changes
If you need to make a change while your guide is subject to moderation, go to your Account screen and click on your ‘in review’ listing for this guide. Select ‘withdraw’. Your guide will then revert to a draft, and you will be able to make changes. Follow the prompts to ‘publish’ the guide again.

I’m hosting an event that is happening in Brisbane, how do I list it on the Brisbane app?
Anyone can create an event in the Brisbane app however you must sign up for a free Brisbane app account to create content for the app. Published events are visible to anyone using the app and must be open to the public or be presented through an established venue such as a retail store or park.
Select the Account icon at the bottom of your Brisbane app screen and log into your account. Click the ‘create’ button and choose ‘create an event’. This will open a ‘create your own event’ screen. Click the ‘get started’ button. Fill in the fields and select ‘next’ to move to the next screen. Complete the fields on all screens until you get to a screen that shows your event – there are 9 screens to complete before you get to this screen. Review the content, preview the event listing to see how it will look to users and once you are happy select the ‘publish’ button. Your event will be subject to review and moderation.

I want to delete a place, guide, or event I have created.
Click on your place or event listing or guide via your Account screen and scroll down to the ‘delete’ button. Once you click on delete, this content will be removed from the app and will no longer be able to be displayed or retrieved.

I am having trouble uploading images for a place, guide, or event.
The Brisbane app accepts JPG images that are up to 2Mb in size. Other file formats are not compatible.

How can I get my guide featured on the Brisbane app?
Featured guides are manually curated depending on seasonality, popularity, uniqueness, and quality. For your best chance of being featured, create a guide that is unique, creative and contains high-quality images.

How long does it take for a place/guide/event submission to go through moderation and be approved or declined?
We aim to complete moderation for guides and events within three working days of submission and places within five working days of submission.

Why was my event not approved?
We reserve the right to decline any event that is inappropriate for inclusion on the Brisbane app including events that include unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, indecent, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, sexually orientated, racially offensive, profane, or pornographic content, or which violate any applicable laws.
