General

  • How do I create a Brisbane app account? Show answer

    To create a place, guide, or event, or to claim a business, you will need a Brisbane app account. Open the app and select the Account icon at the bottom of your screen. To create your Brisbane app account, select ‘sign up now’ and follow the prompts. Once you have created your account, you will be taken to your account profile.
  • How can I edit my account profile? Show answer

    Sign into your Brisbane app account and select the ‘manage account’ button. Update your account fields. Select ‘save’ at the top of page.

    Any changes to your display name and/or user photo are subject to moderation to meet app guidelines.
  • I have forgotten my Brisbane app password. How can I reset it? Show answer

    If you have forgotten the password to sign into your Brisbane app account, click on the ‘forgot your password’ link. You will be taken to a new screen and asked to enter the email address you used to sign up to the Brisbane app. Once you have entered your email address, select the ‘send verification code’ button. An email will be sent to your email address with your verification code. Enter the code on your app screen and select the ‘verify code’ button. Once your email address has been verified select the ‘continue’ button and follow the prompts to change your password.
  • I have submitted an in-app issues report, but I have not received a response. Show answer

    We review all in-app issue reports and investigate matters raised, but do not provide individual responses to users. We will reach out to you if we require further information. If you require additional support, email us at support@brisbaneapp.com.au
  • I want to report an issue with a place/guide/event listing. Show answer

    Scroll to the bottom of the listing and select the ‘report an issue’ button. Follow the prompts to submit the report.
  • Where can I find the privacy policy and terms and conditions to use and contribute to the Brisbane app? Show answer

  • The Brisbane app is crashing on my device. What should I do? Show answer

    Check whether there are updates pending in the App Store or Google Play. If so, update the app. If the app continues to crash on your device, uninstall the app and reinstall it. If you continue to experience issues, report an app issue by selecting the icon in the top left of the screen (three horizontal lines) and selecting ‘report app issue.’

    If you continue experiencing app issues, email support@brisbaneapp.com.au with detailed information about your device and instances when app crashes.

Business users

  • How do I claim my business if it is already listed on the Brisbane app? Show answer

    You must sign up for a free Brisbane app account to claim your business. Claiming your business will allow you to update the place listing for your business.

    Log into your Brisbane app account and search for your business by selecting the Search icon at the bottom of your screen. Once you have found and clicked on your business in the search results, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the ‘claim this business’ button and follow the prompts. You will need your ABN (Australian Business Number) and business name to claim a listing.
  • My business is not listed on the Brisbane app. How do I create a place listing? Show answer

    You must sign up for a free Brisbane app account to create a new place listing.

    Select the Account icon at the bottom of your Brisbane app screen and log into your account. Click the ‘create’ button and choose ‘create a place’. This will open a ‘create your own place’ screen. Click the ‘get started’ button. Fill in the fields and select ‘next’ to move to the next screen. Complete the fields on all screens until you get to a screen that shows your listing – there are 8 screens to complete before you get to this screen. Review the content, preview the listing to see how it will look to users and once you are happy select the ‘publish’ button. Your place listing will be subject to review and moderation.
  • I submitted my place for moderation but need to make changes Show answer

    If you need to make a change while your place is subject to moderation, go to your Account screen and click on your ‘in review’ listing for this place. Select ‘withdraw’. Your place listing will then revert to a draft, and you will be able to make changes. Follow the prompts to ‘publish’ the listing again.
  • I am having trouble uploading images for my business listing. Show answer

    The Brisbane app accepts JPG images that are up to 2Mb in size. Other file formats are not compatible.
  • I want to delete my business listing from the app. Show answer

    Log into your Brisbane app account and select your business listing from your account profile. Scroll to the bottom of the place screen and choose ‘delete this place’. Once you click on delete, this content will be removed from the app and will no longer be able to be displayed or retrieved.
  • Why was my place not approved? Show answer

    We reserve the right to decline any places where a submission:

    • constitutes a breach of privacy
    • includes indecent, obscene, or unlawful material or language
    • lists a place defined as an adult business
    • lists a place that is a multi-level marketing (MLM) business
    • includes a place outside of the greater Brisbane area.

Content creators

  • How do I create a guide? Show answer

    Anyone can create a Brisbane app guide however you must sign up for a free Brisbane app account to create content for the app. Published guides are visible to anyone using the app.

    Select the Account icon at the bottom of your Brisbane app screen and log into your account. Click the ‘create’ button and choose ‘create a guide’. This will open a ‘create your own guide’ screen. Click the ‘get started’ button. Choose the type of guide you’d like to create from the four options and then choose the ‘next’ button. Fill in the fields and select ‘next’ to move to the next screen. Complete the fields on all screens until you get to a screen that shows your guide – there are 6 screens to complete before you get to this screen. Review the content, preview the guide to see how it will look to users and once you are happy select the ‘publish’ button. Your guide will be subject to review and moderation.
  • I submitted my guide for moderation but need to make changes Show answer

    If you need to make a change while your guide is subject to moderation, go to your Account screen and click on your ‘in review’ listing for this guide. Select ‘withdraw’. Your guide will then revert to a draft, and you will be able to make changes. Follow the prompts to ‘publish’ the guide again.
  • I’m hosting an event that is happening in Brisbane, how do I list it on the Brisbane app? Show answer

    Anyone can create an event in the Brisbane app however you must sign up for a free Brisbane app account to create content for the app. Published events are visible to anyone using the app and must be open to the public or be presented through an established venue such as a retail store or park.

    Select the Account icon at the bottom of your Brisbane app screen and log into your account. Click the ‘create’ button and choose ‘create an event’. This will open a ‘create your own event’ screen. Click the ‘get started’ button. Fill in the fields and select ‘next’ to move to the next screen. Complete the fields on all screens until you get to a screen that shows your event – there are 9 screens to complete before you get to this screen. Review the content, preview the event listing to see how it will look to users and once you are happy select the ‘publish’ button. Your event will be subject to review and moderation.
  • I submitted my event for moderation but need to make changes Show answer

    If you need to make a change while your event is subject to moderation, go to your Account screen and click on your ‘in review’ listing for this event. Select ‘withdraw’. Your event will then revert to a draft, and you will be able to make changes. Follow the prompts to ‘publish’ the event again.

  • How can I get my guide featured on the Brisbane app? Show answer

    Featured guides are manually curated depending on seasonality, popularity, uniqueness, and quality. For your best chance of being featured, create a guide that is unique, creative and contains high-quality images.
  • How long does it take for a place/guide/event submission to go through moderation and be approved or declined? Show answer

    We aim to complete moderation for guides and events within three working days of submission and places within five working days of submission.
  • Why was my event not approved? Show answer

    We reserve the right to decline any event that is inappropriate for inclusion on the Brisbane app including events that include unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, indecent, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, sexually orientated, racially offensive, profane, or pornographic content, or which violate any applicable laws.
  • Why was my guide not approved? Show answer

    We reserve the right to decline any guide that includes unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, indecent, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, sexually orientated, racially offensive, profane, or pornographic content, or which violate any applicable laws.

Food truck operators

  • How do I add my food truck to the Brisbane app? Show answer

    You must sign up for a free Brisbane app account to create a new food truck listing.

    Select the Account icon at the bottom of your Brisbane app screen and log into your account. Scroll down to the ‘created content’ section and choose ‘create a place’. This will open the ‘create your own place’ screen. Select ‘get started’. This will open the ‘Tell us about your Place’ screen. Add the name of your food truck, as well as a description. Select ‘next’ at the bottom of the screen. On the category screen, select ‘other food & drink’ and then ‘next’ at the bottom of the screen. On the location type screen, select ‘food truck’ and then ‘next’ at the bottom of the screen. Complete the fields on all screens until you get to a screen that shows your food truck listing – there are 7 screens to complete before you get to this screen. Review the content, preview your listing to see how it will look to users and once you are happy select the ‘publish’ button. You guide will be subject to review and moderation.

    Published places, including food trucks, are visible to anyone using the app.
  • I am having trouble uploading images for my food truck. Show answer

    The Brisbane app accepts JPG images that are up to 2Mb in size. Other file formats are not compatible. Make sure your images relate to your food truck business.
  • Why should I upload a logo for my food truck and what are the logo requirements? Show answer

    Food truck logos are displayed as pins on a map to help customers find you.

    Make sure your logo fits in the circle area on the logo screen, is legible and relates to your food business.

    If you don’t have a logo for your food truck business, send us an email at support@brisbaneapp.com.au and we’ll provide a generic logo.
  • How do I upload or amend a serving schedule for my food truck? Show answer

    A food truck serving schedule shows a user when and where you’ll be serving.

    Make sure you are signed into the Brisbane app and then navigate to your food truck listing and select the ‘schedule’ tab and then ‘manage schedule’. Follow the date, time and location prompts. If you visit a location regularly, you can set a repeating schedule.
  • How do I upload or amend my food truck menu? Show answer

    Upload your menu for users to browse.

    Make sure you are signed into the Brisbane app and then navigate to your food truck listing and select the ‘menu’ tab and ‘manage menu’. Select the ‘add item’ button to add a brand-new item or tap the three dots on an existing menu item to edit or delete the item. Follow the prompts.
  • I want users to be able to submit an enquiry to request my food truck attend an event. Show answer

    The Brisbane app includes a food truck-specific enquiry feature that allows people planning events to make a food truck enquiry to all food trucks that have opted in to receiving food truck request emails.

    You can opt in by selecting the Account icon at the bottom of the app screen and selecting ‘notifications’. Tick the checkbox for ‘receive food truck request emails’. If you want to opt out at any point, untick the checkbox.

    The enquiry will be sent to the email address associated with your food truck, not the email address you used to sign up with. If you want to receive enquiries, please ensure your food truck has an email address.
