The Brisbane Metropolitan Touch Association is Australia’s largest affiliated touch football competition, with over 7,500 players per year at the venue. Competitions are played five nights per week, with junior boys and girls competitions starting from five years of age, adult social competitions and the rapidly expanding men’s masters competition. The elite Metro Cup competition is also run in the second half of the year with the best players and referees in the world representing their local clubs in our showpiece competition. We also host major events including the annual Queensland All Schools tournament, a 5 day showcase of touch football with over 400 teams competing, along with the Queensland School Sport Touch Championships and Deadly Choices Indigenous touch carnival. BMTA also run various programs throughout the year that focuses on development, inclusiveness, staying active and having fun through Touch Football. Specific programs include Tiny Touch, All Abilities and School Holiday programs. To find out more information on any of these programs click through to the pages under the Programs tab above. Through the hard work of two groundskeepers, the association prepares 7 fully-lit touch football fields at the picturesque Whites Hill Reserve, Brisbane’s only dedicated touch football facility. We are also constructing a brand new maintenance shed and 250kL water tank, and also have plans developed for lighting, irrigation and clubhouse upgrades in the medium-term future. The BMTA Mustangs provide representative opportunities to all age of players, and the association was awarded the trophy for Champion Affiliate at the 2019 Junior State Cup, as well as the inaugural 2019 Queensland State Cup where almost a quarter of all teams competing were representing the association. We have called Whites Hill Reserve home since 1988 and have recently launched our new 3 year strategic plan to ensure we succeed for many more years to come.
