Story-telling and books are the core of the CHALK Crew. We aim to develop a passion for reading and self-expression through a multi-media arts program that encourages creative and critical thinking skills as well as literacy skills. With our project-based approach, children play through the themes of the books we read. CHALK’s founder, Ceara, comes from a background in story-telling, teaching languages and drama and lecturing in reading and linguistics. CHALK workshops are run in schools, building reading confidence, a sense of responsibility and communication skills across year levels. We also run local workshops in community halls - a multi-generational play experience where parents and carers read and play along side their children. CHALK parties are a fun way to bring books to life through party themes and craft.
