The new Naracoopa Gallery, nestled in leafy Bracken Ridge, is a treasure trove of surprises. A purpose designed gallery and dedicated artist studio is the perfect space to view artworks by owners Grace and David Cross. The new light-filled gallery boasts sleek modern lines, tonnes of white space and huge windows with a vista to the Brisbane City skyline, mouth of the river, Mt Cootha and beyond. You will find artworks diversified, contemporary, abstract and photo real; comprising oil paintings, Mixed Media, Textiles, and beyond. David and Grace Cross are both Brisbane based visual artists. Grace is a Textile/Mixed Media Artist using a variety of media and surface decoration techniques, creating layered artworks with a fusion of rusting, fibres, fabric, paper, acrylics, collage, stitching, beading and/or embellishments. She is predominantly a specialist in rust dying and printmaking and is currently creating artist books to create her 2D and 3D artworks. David is an oil painter. He has a passion for light, his catalyst, and how it reflects and distorts the surface, whether its glass, water or shiny chrome surfaces. Each reflection is a story, a hidden gem, capturing a moment in time, shimmering, moving, and rippling across the surface. Naracoopa Art Gallery is open to visitors on Sundays from 10AM to 4PM and other days when the open sign is out ( look for the orange open flag flying) or by appointment for private viewing. We are part of the 4017 Bayside Open Studios happening for two weekends23/24 Oct and 30/31 Oct. We are a Covid Safe environment. We look forward to your visit.
