First opened in the 1920s The Wintergarden Theatre was a destination within Queen Street, remodelled in 1981 as a shopping centre and almost 100 years since construction Wintergarden continues to hold pride of place in the hearts of Brisbanites, as a shopping mecca within the Queen Street Mall. Wintergarden was purchased in February 2003 by ISPT with the view to add value through development, a vision now apparent following the $100 million redevelopment in 2010 – 2012. Featuring a 90m long three dimensional whimsical metal façade, studded with 24,000 LED lights, Wintergarden lights up the Queen Street mall each and every night. Wintergarden is home to a number of flagship retailers including, Mecca Maxima, Seed and Nespresso, supported by unique specialty retailers, such as Veronika Maine, Sheike and Peter Jackson. Complimenting this fashion hub is a diverse food court with over 700 seats and a lifestyle and leisure precinct on level one, which includes Queensland’s first PappaRich restaurant. Wintergarden is complimented by its neighbours, The Regent, 155 Queen Street and 170 Queen Street, all owned by ISPT.
